Kwaya Foundation boosted singer Evelyn Lagu’s charity concert with the purchase of VIP tickets worth sh2 million.
According to founder, Spice Diana, during the car wash weeks ago where money was raised but still felt compelled to contribute. This was while hosting the ailing singer at her, recording studio, 32 Records.
She added that she is also taking advantage of the fact that the ministry of health okayed the charity gig leaving no room for excuses by artistes.
“We are still on the fundraising bit to make sure she is operated. The last time we had a car wash, I was there personally and we raised some money. This time we have a bigger opportunity courtesy of the ministry of health okaying a charity concert,” she said.
Singer Geosteady also bought 10 tickets and called out the Ugandan public and artistes for taking pleasure in the suffering of others.
“The important thing is you reap what you sow. If you meet people with love you get that, if you give hate, that’s what you get. Ugandans are weird people, you can get a problem and they say, let him/her suffer. This country likes bad things,” he said.
Lagu needs sh250 million for a kidney transplant. The first gig is on Friday, March 26 and Freedom city on March 27.
